Man meets biggest superstar

Gerald tells NewsChannel 32, “His vibrant personality is so charming, capturing, and magnetic. You feel like you’ve known him all your life, even the first time you meet him.”

Gerald met Tommy more than forty years ago, but they are reuniting today, because he wanted Tommy to give him the highlights of his life.

Tommy says, “I don’t have words to tell you how excited I am to be with him.”

Their first stop is the Stephens County Historical Museum that Tommy is featured in.

Some of Gerald’s fondest memories are when Tommy took his medicine show on the road.

Gerald adds, “All three were always talking at the same time and telling me wonderful stories. I sat there with my head going from one side to another, and he was entertaining me like I’ve never been entertained in my life.”

All that chatter, might be why Tommy is commonly referred to as the Ramblin’ Tommy Scott.

Gerald loves to hear his rambling though, especially since he is losing his eye sight, and it’s getting harder hard for him to see Tommy’s museum exhibit.

The disability does not bother Gerald, he is just happy to be reunited with his old friend.

Gerald says, “We’re growing old like good wine. We’re getting more flavor, character, and personality.”

Those a just a few characteristics both men will never lose.

Tommy just finished writing a 700 page book, with more than 800 pictures from his life.
