Silver futures fell for third day, the worst run since January, when an increase in margin requirements on the Comex drove investors away. Gold may also extend its fall in third day.

Silver for July delivery in New York fell as much as 5 percent to $ 40,465 per ounce, after losing 7.6 percent yesterday and 5.2 percent on May 2 The metal was $ 41,215 at 8:27 pm in Singapore, where losses over the three days to 15 percent. Williams Creek Explorations Limited Commences Exploration Program on Its Barkerville and Pine Properties

Williams Creek Explorations Limited is pleased to announce the start of its 2011 Phase I exploration program at its 100% owned Barkerville Crown Granted mineral properties. Mobilization of the drill and crew is underway with drilling anticipated to begin May 5th.

The Phase I program is composed of 5,000 metres of diamond drilling in two stages as well as trenching. The first stage will include 2,500 metres at 10 sites as well as 700 metres of trenching. The drilling and trenching programs will take place within a 2.0 square kilometre area of interest south and west of Barkerville Historic Town Site. Drilling and trenching locations were selected based on a thorough review of historical data conducted by Childs Geoscience Inc. Lamaque Mine to Host Researchers Studying the Use of Tailings in Reclamation

Century Mining Corporation is pleased to announce that the Company has been notified by the Québec Ministry of Durable Development, Environment and Parks (“MDDEP”) of approval by the MDDEP of the Certificate of Authorization(“C of A”) for the operation of the Lamaque mine in Val d’Or, Québec at a rate of 2,500 tonnes per day and dewatering of the mine down to 1,200 feet below the surface, including the Bedard Dyke, North Wall and Lamaque mining areas. In the course of the MDDEP’s review of the C of A application, mine management has coordinated with MDDEP staff to develop restoration plans incorporating the use of tailings as covering material for the open pit waste dumps and to respond to the MDDEP’s concerns regarding this evolving technological application.
